As a parent or teacher you might have a child who you KNOW says a sound incorrectly but no matter how many times you SHOW them how to say something, it just isn’t getting through. As a SLP, I take it for granted that everyone knows where and how sounds are made in the mouth when in fact, most teachers or parents that I explain “voice on/voice off” or “back sounds vs front sounds” to are just astonished at the concept. Once it is explained, it is usually exclaimed “WOW! I never thought of it that way!”
