Darla Gardner, MS, CCC-SLP

Darla has worked in both the educational and skilled nursing settings since graduating from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2002.

Although there is a special place in her heart for both settings, the early childhood setting in the public school has become her passion.

After working as the only special education professional on campus for a few years, Darla collaborated with general education teachers and administrators to develop a robust, effective early language intervention program. Taking time to learn about the state standards and associating the early language concepts needed to achieve each proved effective in training colleagues in providing language interventions in the classroom.

Working alongside parents and teachers to provide interventions is the best strategy for long-term success.
