St. Patrick’s Day Coloring Pages

I like using coloring pages and crafts with my young students to work on language skills. It’s so much more than just coloring! I also like to give them choices when in speech. This St. Patrick’s Day coloring activity let’s students pick their own colors to use on their color by code worksheets.

St. Patrick’s Day Word Games

Many of my students have goals for increasing their academic and seasonal vocabulary. This carries over into classroom activities for literacy. Each season I change out the vocabulary learning pocket chart and with each session, review the words pictured. One of the places I go to get the vocabulary words is from my Busy Books for Speech and Language. Another is from my Flip to the Finish printable word building games. I have one St. Patrick’s Day word game that is a great addition to speech therapy groups or literacy centers!

The St. Patrick’s Day activities for preschoolers included can also be used for kindergarten and early elementary students depending on their areas of communication deficits. All of my speech therapy worksheets include early to later developing sounds. If you are wanting to know what does St. Patrick’s Day celebrate or how did St. Patrick’s Day start, check out the free download from Panda Speech in my lesson plans. If you need a digital Boom Card activity, there is one linked from Ashley Rossi for 50 trials in articulation practice. In the lesson plans, you will also find a Feed the Old Lady activity from Whitney SLP.

I hope these St. Patrick’s Day lesson plans have saved you time and energy! Have a fantastic week in Speech!

About Me

Darla Gardner is an ASHA certified Speech Language Pathologist with extensive experience in both the skilled nursing and educational settings.
“Ms Gardenia” was created after an adorable and otherwise quirky second grader with autism lovingly referred to her by that name on a daily basis despite multiple attempts to correct. Although he is no longer on caseload, many more students like him remain and his nickname is used as a reminder that although therapy can be frustrating and challenging it is the most rewarding and life changing field to be a part of.
This site was created as a resource for parents, therapists and other professionals to share therapy ideas and activities, to encourage therapists and parents who feel overwhelmed and to promote products that improve communication across settings.
